These coils are primarily made of aluminium, featuring notable amounts of magnesium (4.0–4.9%) and manganese (0.4–1.0%), along with small traces of chromium. This alloy isn’t heat-treatable, but it boasts remarkable corrosion resistance, especially in marine and chemically harsh settings. It has a tensile strength ranging from 270 to 350 MPa and a yield strength between 215 and 280 MPa, depending on the temper, such as H111, H321, or O. The alloy maintains its strength even after welding and performs exceptionally well in extreme conditions. Plus, it has good fatigue resistance, making it perfect for both structural and high-load applications.
