This alloy boasts a tensile strength ranging from 415–485 MPa and a yield strength of 250–400 MPa, depending on the temper (typically T6 or T651). Elongation usually falls between 10–15%. While it excels in machinability and strength, its corrosion resistance is not as high as that of other alloys, which may necessitate protective coatings. Aluminium 2014 is particularly suited for high-load applications where mechanical performance is paramount.
