SA285 Grade C is a carbon steel material commonly used for pressure vessels and boilers. Its composition includes a maximum of 0.18% carbon, 0.93% manganese, 0.035% phosphorus, 0.035% sulfur, and small amounts of silicon, copper, nickel, and chromium. The mechanical properties of SA285 Grade C include a yield strength of 205 MPa (30 ksi), a tensile strength range of 345-485 MPa (50-70 ksi), and elongation of at least 20%. This grade offers good weldability and low to moderate strength and is primarily used in low to medium-pressure applications.
