A286 Foil is an iron-based superalloy, primarily made up of iron, nickel (24–27%), chromium (13.5–16%), and molybdenum (1–1.5%), along with some titanium, vanadium, and trace elements. It’s age-hardenable and boasts impressive high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 700°C. The alloy has a tensile strength ranging from about 895 to 1310 MPa and a yield strength between 585 and 965 MPa, depending on the heat treatment it undergoes. It also maintains good ductility and creep resistance under stress, making it perfect for precision foil applications that require both flexibility and durability.
