4140 Steel Sheet and Plate is a low-alloy steel that includes chromium (0.8–1.1%), molybdenum (0.15–0.25%), and manganese (0.75–1.0%). This unique blend boosts its strength, toughness, and resistance to wear and fatigue. It delivers impressive tensile strength (ranging from about 655 MPa to over 1000 MPa when heat-treated), good ductility, and high impact resistance. With a Brinell hardness between 197 and 237 in the annealed state, 4140 steel is easy to machine and can be heat-treated for increased hardness.
